[ About ]

Chaotic, passionate, barely organized, creative, constantly searching, redefining over and over again, and most importantly, never niching down....

Living By Bike first started out as a casual instagram account to share photos of my first bike tour (East Coast USA) for friends to see. I posted first for fun, then I chased the illusory promise of “making it” as an influencer, growing an online community of like minded individuals who were as obsessed with biking as I was. I was on a mission to convert and inspire more people to ditch the car-centric lifestyle and say “f*ck it” and go on that big bike tour they had been dreaming of. I appreciate what my past-self tried to encouraged others to do, but I have taken a step back from Instagram/short-form content due to the reality that it is making us less intelligent as people and fundamentally altering our lived reality.

On this website, you can find a coalescence of what makes me, and Living By Bike, so special. Whether it’s the newest and most exciting part of my group bike tours, short videos talking about dumpster diving, or old writings about my reflections and experiences bicycle touring (sadly, touring is a bit harder to fit into my life now), this platform is, yes, about bikes, but more so about everything that a bicycle represents: freedom, connection, health, community, authenticity, conscientiousness, exploration.

For whatever reason you are here: because you followed me as I biked across the USA, Europe, New Zealand, because of you found a video of me talking about living car-free, or because you found an entirely unrelated-to-bikes article I posted on Substack, welcome to my corner of the internet. I’m glad you are here 🙂.
